Thomas Elroy Hill launched into eternity to continue his adventures in the Heavenly Kingdom. His first leap of faith was as a paratrooper with the famous 82nd Airborne in WWII over the Black Forest, Germany. Later, on the G.I. Bill, he studied architecture at the University of Texas in Austin. He returned to his beloved Wichita Falls and with his friend, created a successful building company, “Hill and Moore”, where they built housing subdivisions and military, government installations throughout the Southwest. He continued to operate Tom Hill Builder Realtor until his passing at 90 years of age.
It was as a YMCA handball champion that Thomas met and married the scorekeeper, Patricia Ann Mc Carty. They had three baby boomer girls, Elizabeth, Victoria, and Mary, but everyone managed to survive it.
Always understanding and never overbearing, Thomas Hill showed the strength of his support to the people in his community. The wake of his exceptional presence draws us into the example of his way. We love you.
Thomas Hill is survived by his sister, Mrs. Janelle Giutierrez of Tuscon, AZ and his three daughters and their families: Miriam Cohen of Wichita Falls; Mrs Victoria and Dr. Blake Dutton and their sons, Julian and Reid Dutton of Chicago, Il.; Dr. Mary Hill Racano and Mr. Giuseppe Racano, and his children, Ilaria and Mateo Racano , of Fort Worth, TX and Torino, Italy.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, September 18, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls with Paul Goodrich officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
