
Born November 30, 1934 in Wichita Falls,, Texas. Bill was the son of Noel and Marietta (James) Brashear. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School home of the Coyotes in 1953. While attending high school he was a star basketball and baseball athlete. He enrolled at Oklahoma University and joined the Sooners baseball squad. He played semi-pro ball with several OU teammates in South Dakota and Nebraska, where he met his first wife.
He and Helen Marie O'Brien married in September 1954 and resided in Wichita Falls, Texas. They had three children: Brad, Robin and John . They divorced in 1962.
In December 1963 Bill married Virginia "Ginger" Lynn Price (Schlicht). She had 2 children from her previous marriage, Klaus and Nicki. Bill lovingly raised Klaus and Nicki as his own: the family resided in Wichita Falls until 1978, then moved to Aransas Pass, Texas. While there Bill worked in the shrimping and ice production industries for many years. He later worked at Commercial Motors in Aransas Pass, where he eventually retired. Bill and Ginger enjoyed being involved with various groups and clubs in Aransas Pass for over 40 years.
For the past two years Bill resided at Avir (former Caraday) of Corpus Christi, where he enjoyed a full day of activities and community. He was known by the staff and residents as a very loving and caring man, always looking to help someone get to their room or to the dining hall. It was common to see him in the front foyer playing the piano as people would come and go. Bill passed peacefully at Avir on October 14, 2025.
Bill was preceded in death by his father Noel, mother Marietta (James) Brashear, sister Marianne Brashear and wife, Ginger Brashear. He leaves his children, Brad (Paula) Brashear, Robin (Gary) Hampton, John (Kim) Farrell, Klaus Brashear and Nicki (Barry) Lamb. 15 grandchildren,14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Everyone who knew Bill said, "He is the most loving man they have ever known." Bill loved his family, friends and especially his Lord, Jesus. Yes, he will be greatly missed.
Private family inurnment, will be in Wichita Falls, Texas, at a later date.
