Nicest people we ever knew. We had so much fun with them anytime we played Wichita. Didn’t know she had passed until I got my Christmas card back this past year. Then googled it and found this site. My condolences to the family of Alice.  I remember meeting her as a little girl - my aunt Helen Fankhauser always talked about her sisters.   My family was Helen and Willis Fankhauser in Lyons, Kansas (Willis and Roy Fankhauser were brothers).   The sisters had such long lives - many blessings for knowing this special generation.

What wonderful memories I have of our "growing up years" as Bethel Pres youth. Your mom always had such a sweet smile with a caring & friendly attitude toward each of us, which made me feel special.

What a sweet Lady!  I enjoyed getting to know Alice while visiting my Brother Bob & Cindy.  We would always see her,  go to movie, out for a meal or visit her at her home.  She was always gracious & a lot of fun!

Alice Lewis has been a dear friend since Boyd and Bill began working together at Gordon Evans Power Plant (KG&E) in 1962.  We have wonderful memories of good times going out to dinner, dancing, and company parties. Occasionally, we enjoyed traveling and camping together.  Alice was such a positive person with a great sense of humor and we always had good times.  Very quickly, we began sharing family events. Alice and Bill were like an aunt and uncle to our sons and became good friends with my parents in Nebraska. So many memories; Chinese food at Alberts in Wichita, a trip to Nashville and The Grand Old Opry, Gatlinburg, water skiing in Missouri, the Friday night pep rally at Misty's the night before a Nebraska football game . . . . This picture was taken at my Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary party in 1982.  Since moving to Arkansas in 1999, we have continued our friendship via telephone, e-mail and letters and an occasional visit in Wichita. We miss her very much and we pray the Lord will give you comfort and peace during this difficult time.

Dear Alice's family  ......  thank you so much for the video tribute.  It was so sincere and such an awesome tribute to a wonderful lady.  My sister Patsy and I shall always hold a special place in our hearts for Alice.  We grew up in Bethel Church and so many kind folks in that Christian setting taught us the way of Christian living.  Alice was always willing to help our mother, Edith Lutes after our father, James Lutes passed away.  Mom did not drive, so there were so many kind folks always there to take her somewhere and Alice was one of them.  She was such a special, loving woman of her family and friends.  God bless and keep you all in His peace.

Aunt Alice, was a favorite among all the Cousins  She was always there for everyone.  When our Daughter was in Wesley hospital , Bill & Alice brought us a home cooked meal.  She will be missed and never forgotten..  Dan Fankhauser

Alice will be so missed at Bethel, She was very special to all of us.  Prayers for all of you.

The first time I met Alice she embraced me like she had known me forever. She has a magical charm and shares it with you.  I loved her stories and phrases like " Well, that's about as handy as a pocket on a shirt". I will miss her.  I pray for her family and close friends and hope time heals and the good memories last forever.
