I met Benita while she was dating my brother Ed. She was fun to be with then and throughout her life.  She was a marvelous manager of  her family with a loving  partnership with my brother, and a  tremendous mother for her sons and a great grandmother.   She was a very thoughtful sister-in-law and aunt to my children.  She was loved by our family and will always be in our memory.

Mrs. Goss was the best 2nd mom anybody could ever imagine.  Always supportive, tender and loving.  Mrs. Goss and the family  were such an important part of a glorious and  memorable childhood. I which all kids could have a Mrs. Goss in their life.  I believe I spent more time at the Goss house than my own house playing basketball, getting into trouble and always invited to eat with the family.  To this day, I do not know how she kept so much food in the house. She always made time for the Blincoe's and could always get us to laugh. I spoke with her by phone recently and she admitted she was failing but did not want to talk about herself but about my family.  She cared more about others than herself. Mrs. Goss - thank you so much for being in my life!

Mrs. Goss lived 4 doors down from us while I was growing up on Richmond St. in Wichita. She was a hardy heartfull organizing happy mom of rambunctious boys who were good friends to all of us. She had a booming contagious laugh which was her signature. She filled my memory banks with 1,000s of delights. Just one small one which is vivid as I write this note. At swim meets at Twin Rivers she’d sit near the end of the pool about the time I’d have to make a flip turn. I was rather near sighted and used Mrs. Goss’ voice to queue me for that turn. Even under masses of gurgling water and over the loud cheers of many other parents, including my own, I can remember hearing her distinctly. We kept in contact and saw her many times over the years. She was among the strongest, sweetest, happiest people I’ve known. Mrs. Goss was a blessing in my life. But then, that was Benita Goss to us all. Edward Blincoe

The Goss home was a regular gathering place for all the boys in the neighborhood from the time we were in grade school to the time we were in high school.  We must have played a million hours of basketball in the Goss driveway.  If Mrs. Goss ever got tired of having 8 or 10 neighbor kids at her house 4-5 days a week, she never showed it.  She was a great lady and I am saddened by her loss.  May she live on forever in the memories of her family and her many friends.  

Besides being a great cook, Benita was a very nice person who loved her family deeply. I still have great memories of family get-
togethers involving touch football, pick up basketball, and shooting fireworks. She made sure everyone had plenty to eat. My condolences to my cousins and their families. She will definitely be missed.

Dale, sorry to learn of your mom’s passing. I remember her well and my mom spoke often of her.  Wishing you peace during this time.
