

Bennie attended Wewoka Publics Schools graduating from Douglas High School in 1956. Shortly after high school she was visiting her sister in Wichita and met and married Clifford A. Harden and to this union five children were born.
While raising her children she attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Wichita and later joined St. Paul A.M.E. where she attended until her death.
Bennie spent the next few decades working throughout Wichita including at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita Public Schools, KU Medical Center, The State of Kansas and ending her career as Owner of 7 to 7 Day Care where she left an indelible mark on the lives of the many children who passed through 7 to 7’s doors.
Bennie participated in softball leagues, bowling leagues and loved playing dominoes and cards (yes, all kinds); talking trash with the best of them.
Left to mourn her are her five children Cynthia Carter-Lee (James) of Vero Beach, FL; Victor Harden of Washington, DC; Toni Harden, Kevin Harden and Maurice Harden all of Wichita. Grandchildren MonaLisa Claggett, Chad Harden, Tiara Harden, T’yler O’Quinn (Lena), Great Grandchildren Ayrianah Cynthia McCray, Aniyah Celeste McCray, Adrianah Ciara Evans, Timothy O’Quinn, Michael O’Quinn. Siblings Barbara McDuffy, Jacquie McDuffy, Wanda Vinson, Joe McDuffy, Willard Linzy, Steve Linzy, Wayne Linzy and Shelanda Ogletree. Nephews Curtis Chatman and Gregory McDuffy; Neice Y’Cedra King (Derek) and a host of cousins and friends.
Her heart, home and mind was always open to anyone in need. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
