Betty June Baker

Baker, Betty June, born in Wichita, KS on 4-17-1928 died 9-3-2014. She grew up and lived in Wichita her whole life and attended East High School and graduated in 1946. Betty married Robert F. Baker 9-26-1947 and had two sons Harlan and Allan. Betty enjoyed playing softball until she turned age 60 and decided to retire from sports. She always enjoyed the friends and opponents that she met through the years. She and her husband had many friends they met through Bob’s Army and National Guard Units, classmates, Post Office co-workers and enjoyed hosting reunions for their friends from all around the country. Bob died in 2001 and she turned her attentions to being a Mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will always be remembered as Mommoc from everyone who loved her. Betty is survived by two sons, Harlan J. (Linda) of Wichita, and Allan R. of Neptune Beach, FL., grandson Spencer Baker (Crystal) of Conway Springs, granddaughter Erin Evans (Joshua), their two sons Brayden and Chase of Shawnee, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, three sisters, and two brothers. Visitation with family present is 2 to 4 pm Sunday and funeral service is 10:00 am Monday, Sept. 8 both at Resthaven Mortuary. Memorials can be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
