Betty Sweeney

She was raised on the Sweeney Family Homestead three quarters of a mile east of Dacoma, Oklahoma and attended grade school and high school graduating in 1944. Betty attended Northwestern College in Alva, Oklahoma. Betty worked during harvest as bookkeeper at the Feuquay Elevator in Dacoma and served as Dacoma’s Postmaster for nine years retiring in 1976. She lived on the farm until 1988 at which time she bought a house in Dacoma. Betty loved to garden and always had a beautiful yard and flowers. She moved to Kansas in 2007 and devoted her time and love to family.

Preceded in death by her father, James, mother, Harriet, infant brother, Edward, and loving sister, Mary Morse of Wichita, KS and countless aunts and uncles. She leaves to mourn: two nieces; Donna(Michael) Hansford of Wichita, Kansas, Mitzi(Art) O’Neal of Potwin, Kansas: two greatnieces; Andrea(Jeff) Bullok , Amy(David) Marsh both of Wichita, Kansas; four great great-nephews/nieces; Lincoln Marsh, Lauren Bullok, Hannah Bullok and Anthony Marsh. Private graveside services were held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, October 13, 2015.
