

Clark, Bobbie Joe "B.J.", 89, born June 30, 1927, to Albert Ford and Viola Agnes (Barrett) Clark at Ringwood, OK, passed away July 6, 2016. He was the seventh child and the youngest son of the family of eight. B.J. served with the Eighth Army, 2nd Infantry, Indian Head Div., Company B, 1st Bn., 23rd Inf. Regiment in the Iron Triangle Area of Korea. His service included Unit Citation Awards, Modes of Service, 3 Bronze Battle Stars, Combat Infantry Badge & 3 Oak Leaf Clusters. He was a life member of VFW Post 1281 of Herington, KS, an avid biker for many years & a member of the Jesus Team Chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association. B.J. worked for the U.S. Post Office, as well as Boeing & Cessna aircraft. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Glenn Ray; siblings, Fred Sr., Glenn, Edda, Clara Posey, Ruth Whorton & Mabel Brock. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; one sister, Juanita Packard of Oklahoma City; children, Roger (Shirley) Clark of Leon, KS, Steve Clark of Murdock, KS, Peggy Cape and Vicki Newton both of Herington, KS; step-daughters, Debbie (Mike) Shirkey, Pamela (Jack) Mitchell of Wichita, and Kelly (Billy) Simmons of Wakarusa, IN; grandchildren, John Clark, Dale Clark, Ricky Cape, Vincent Newton, Anthony Newton, Patrick (Samantha) Newton, Charles (Natalie) Stein, Chad Stein, Aaron (Katerina) Yerton, Briawna (Stephen) Hartmann, Austin Callahan, Kalyn (Adrian) Waller, Shawntel Shirkey, Isaac Simmons, Taryn Bowman & 5 great grandchildren, & multitudes of nieces and nephews. Visitation 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Resthaven Mortuary and funeral service 3 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at Antioch Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christian Motorcyclists Association or Hope Christian Church.
