Bobby J Johnson

Johnson, Bobby J, 85, of Wichita, Kansas passed away Wed. Feb. 22, 2017 in Wichita. Bobby was born the son of Edward and Lucile Johnson on Feb. 3, 1932 in Ponca City, OK. Bobby and Shirley Johnson were united in marriage on Aug. 6, 1954 in Holyrood, KS. Together they celebrated 58 years of marriage before her passing in 2013. Bobby was a 1950 graduate of Holyrood High School and in 1954 graduated from Ft. Hays State University. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957. Bobby was a partner in the accounting firm of Elmer Fox and Company, later retiring after 30 years from their acquired name of Grant Thornton. He was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wichita. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Bill and Clifford Johnson. Survivors include his loving children, Mark (Cindy) Johnson of Olathe, Brian (Judy) Johnson of Wichita, Kevin Johnson of Overland Park, Diane (Dave) Sinclair of Olathe, brother, Gordon (Fay) Johnson of Florida, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Fri. Feb. 24, 2017 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Sat. Feb. 25, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 611 S. Erie, Wichita. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Mausoleum, Wichita. Memorials can be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
