Born in McPherson, Kansas, and raised in Goddard, Brett was baptized at age 13 at Goddard United Methodist Church, where he attended throughout his teen years. He went on to earn degrees from Hutchinson Community College and Wichita State University, always seeking to grow and challenge himself.
Brett had a passion for life. He loved the thrill of riding motorcycles, the discipline of Jiu-Jitsu, and the satisfaction of working with his hands—always building, fixing, or learning something new. Above all else, Brett treasured his family and the time they shared—whether it was a quiet evening at home, an outdoor adventure, or the simple, everyday moments. His deep love for them was evident in all he did.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Cobie, and their three children: William, August, and Benjamin. He also leaves behind his parents, Paul and Audrey; his siblings: Eric, Megan (Jason), Rebecca (Caleb), Emily (Alex), and Katelyn; his honorary brother, Chris; and his cherished grandmother, Janice.
He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Travis, and his paternal grandparents, Oscar and Beulah.
Brett's memory lives on in the hearts of those he loved. His legacy is one of strength, kindness, and unshakable faith.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
— 2 Timothy 4:7
