He served as a Sargent in the US Army in the Korean War, while in the service he played golf. He was a kind, compassionate man who was an avid golfer, getting a hole-in-one and loved the Arts. He was united in marriage to Lucille H. Post on November 26, 1951. He was preceded in death by his parents Everett W. and Edith L. (Schmidt) Johnson, brother Gary W. Johnson.
He is survived by his wife Lucille H. (Post) Johnson, children Bruce (Becky) Johnson of Hesston, KS, Gwen (Rick) Thome of Wichita, Carol (Dave) Unruh of Wichita, Keith (Karen) Johnson of Wichita, Kent (Margie) Johnson of Derby, KS, Janelle (Stephen) Marshall of Plano, TX, 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. Rosary 7pm, Thurs. Nov. 13th, Mass of Christian Burial 10am, Fri. Nov. 14th both at St. Anne Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial has been established with St. Anne Catholic Church or St. Anne Music Scholarship, 2801 S. Seneca, Wichita, KS 67217.
