She was a homemaker and raised five children. She was a grandmother to a whole host of children. She attended South City Southern Baptist Church and was actively involved in WMU, provided snacks for Vacation Bible School, and active in many ministries throughout the years. After her children went to elementary school she volunteered at the local elementary school as a tutor. She took pride in her flower garden and vegetable garden every growing season. Her love for gardening has carried on for three generations. She also enjoyed visiting the Sedgwick County Zoo and museums with her family.
After retirement, Carolyn and David spent their time traveling over various states in the continental United States and she enjoyed collecting spoons, shot glasses, and refrigerator magnets from each place they visited. She enjoyed donating blood to the American Red Cross, and before her passing had told her nurses that she had given over one-hundred gallons of blood over the years. She took her time to volunteer at the voting polls, as well. She and David taught the importance of voting by saying "If you don't vote, you don't have a right to complain"; all of her children and most grandchildren heard this phrase.
Carolyn received her angel wings on January 26, 2023. She will be missed by all of her family and her friends.
