Charles "Charlie" Dewey Ivy passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025. He was born December 28, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas to Dewey Ivy and Lorene (Caywood) Ivy. Charlie is leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and adventure. He was a devoted father, proud grandfather, and a loyal friend to many. An avid runner and passionate fisherman, he found joy in the simple things—especially time spent with his granddaughters and his beloved little dog, Canella.
He was in a beautiful place in his life, surrounded by love and doing what he enjoyed most. He was overjoyed with the news of his first great-grandbaby, expected this June, and looked forward to welcoming a new generation with pride and excitement.
His generous heart, warm presence, and ability to turn friends into family will be deeply missed. Always just a phone call away, he was the one you could count on—no matter what.
Taken far too soon, he leaves behind a family who adored him and a community who will never forget his giving spirit.
A visitation for Charles will be held Monday, May 5, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and a funeral service will occur Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 10:30 AM both at Resthaven Mortuary 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. A committal service will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Kansas Veterans Cemetery, 1208 N College St, Winfield, KS 67156.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Charlie's memory to the Harper Justice Ivy Foundation.
