Cheri Lynn Wright, 45, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 6, 2021. To know Cheri is to know a servant that loved God, her family and others. She was born July 13, 1975 in great Bend, Kansas to Keith and LaDonna (Brenner) Widener. Cheri lived on the family farm near Hudson, Kansas until she graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1993. She loved sports and competed in tennis, basketball and track. She later graduated from Tabor College.
Cheri married Brad Wright on October 4, 2001 and they built their home and family in Wichita, KS. She is survived by her husband, Brad; son, Bryce and daughter, Shelby of the home; her parents of Hudson, KS; brother, Michael (Allison) Widener of Hudson, KS and nieces Regan, Brynn and Anelle; aunts, uncles, cousins and many other beloved friends and family. Cheri was preceded in death by her grandparents, Austin and Bernice Widener and Kenneth and Irene Brenner; and uncle, Kenny Brenner.
As a faithful and loving Christian woman, wife, mom, daughter and sister - Cheri is known for her strength. That strength, her one-of-a-kind laugh, passion and love for Christ, her family and sports will carry on in and through Brad, Shelby and Bryce. Cheri purposed to also live her life with grace and kindness, always serving and thinking of others.
Her winning spirit and desire to spread the gospel to young people will not be defeated by death. Cheri loved serving at Pathway Church! She was a 2nd grade Sunday school; teacher, a coordinator and leader for Awana and served with Brad as a High School; small group leader. Her favorite scripture to teach little ones was John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Cheri moved heaven and earth to be the biggest, most passionate cheerleader and supporter of Bryce and Shelby's games, concerts or whatever else they participated in. Her servant heart was apparent in her commitment to her customers at work as well. She made sure they had the best cost for the medicines and supplies they needed, often delivering them in person when elderly customers were unable to get out.
Cheri's favorite place was behind the scenes - delivering gifts, coordinating tournaments and events, taking pictures or whatever else anyone needed with that gigantic smile on her face, a sweet tea in hand and flip flops in the winter!!
Brad, Shelby and Bryce have remained strong, faithful and hopeful even when they couldn't see Cheri face-to-face to hold her hand. The family thanks you for the multitude of prayers, meals and gifts that have and will continue to sustain them through difficult days as they heal and find hope for the future.
