Danny,   I will miss you so much and our long talks late at night.   We spent lots time together as kids we went to Field School knew lots of same families and spent lots of times with our Granny and your mom taking us to school doctors and hamburgers for lunches.    You spent so much time at our house playing pool.    You also knew where my old cars were.     You gave me so much support and I love you Cousin and so thankful we had the last few years together very special times.     Love ❤️ you always.  Prayers 🙏.     Louise 

One of a kind. If you ever need help or advise on cars he was the man. I would go and visit Dan on breaks at Spirit. Truly will miss him.

Dan Welch was so much more to me than a first cousin... Dan was a brother to me; we were only 4 months and 11 days from sharing the same birthday, Dan being the younger one...so many memories as kids... when we were both adolescents, pre teen years in the late 60's, early 70's Dan and I hung out often. At the time we both had stingray bycicles and every chance I got I'd be at Dan's house and we'd ride everywhere; we'd ride to Grandma's & she'd give us $5 and ask that we go get her two Taco's and a Pepsi at Taco Tico on West St which I believe is still there...in the late 60's early 70's Tacos were cheap, like .25 each...so we'd go get grandma her Taco's and she'd always give us the change when we returned which we'd always split between us...we'd then ride to the mini mart and load up on candy...oh the good old days...I can remember when Uncle Troy bought that Honda 60 mini bike for Dan... I was like "I never want to leave now" because we had so much fun... good times...as we got older we drifted a bit until the summer of 1977 which is when we both went to Summer school at West High...both Juniors in High School and the only reason we went to Summer school is because we were smart kids...:) Wanted to get ahead for next year...:):) After that we both drifted again, which is about the time Dan really got into racing...I believe as far back as the very early 70's Dan started showing interest in racing because of his elder brothers Duane and David mostly because of David...and once he got the racing bug, that was it...he lived for racing... absolutely lived to race...we always seemed to drift through the years but we never lost touch...in fact Dan was just over here on the 18th of October...last time I seen him was on the 23rd of October 2020...I read a post about being a better person because of knowing Dan...I   couldn't agree more...he was a gem 💎...I am absolutely heart broken that he's gone, but we will meet again. Love you Dan Welch! God speed to Heaven Brother!

I met Dan 30 years ago or so. Many memories of him and his family at the track. Dan was a great racer but an even better human being. Gone too soon for sure. Prayers to the Welch family. 

I worked with Dan at spirit.  He was a kind man. We recently reconnected on Facebook will miss him terribly. 

Dan made the best homemade chili and sugar cookies.  He was a "teddy bear " A gental Soul Coworker:  Mary L. Johnson  LL839  Machinist  

We send our condolences from the Dennis Welch family (youngest son of Art Welch) of Seymour, Mo. -Danny's second cousin.  We send our prayers and thoughts at such a difficult time, as we learned Troy passed away not to long ago.

I was hoping to meet Danny and the rest of the Welch family, as I just moved to Wichita.

Dan was my next door neighbor, we shared a fence for the last 26 years.  My heart has broken in pieces.  He was such a wonderful man, a great friend and neighbor.  I can't imagine what life will be like without seeing his smiling face, the conversations over the fence, jumping out of my skin when he would  start up the Corvette then going out and laughing about it with him, walking over to see what he was working on in the garage.... so many memories.  It just won't ever be the same anymore.  He is gone way too soon, and will be missed soo much!!  Love you my friend.  Thanks for being such a great neighbor/friend.  Miss you!!

Dan was a very close friend and long time neighbor . I have so many memories with Dan. I always loved to hear his Vette fire up it would rattle every window in the house. He was always there to lend a hand or sit back and laugh at us. He will be deeply missed R.I.P. my Friend. 

Sandy & I met Dan through racing years ago.  We stayed friends all these years was honored to be his friend.  He was always honest and just a good person.  The world lost one of the best and this is going to really hurt for awhile.   We would like to send our deepest sympathy and condolences for the Welch family. Good people and friends just don't come any better than Dan. RIP

Met Dan back in the 80's - at the dragstrip of course - he always was a gentleman and a TRUE DRAG RACER - a great sportsman, win or lose. As a Corvette guy I always admired his vette and with Dan driving he was a force to be reckoned with on the track. Always friendly. He was a good man. I am better for knowing him. RIP.

 I first met Dan when I worked at WIR . I remember how it wasn't just going to the track it was a Welch family event. Dan was one of my favorite racers because he didn't come out to play games he wanted the win. I am really going to miss some of the shenanigans that we did at work, Spirit took a huge loss with the passing of Dan! Dan was like a big brother that I never had, he will be missed forever but never forgotten.

I was really saddened to learn of Dan's passing. My sympathies to the family.

I first met Dan over 20 years ago on my first day at SpiritAerosystems. He spoke with me as if he had known me for years.
I soon learned that was  his nature. Dan was always willing to help anyone on the job who needed help. Dan clearly had a passion for his drag cars. I have visited Dan many times at his home down through the years, and him allowing me to sit in his dragster while it was running, was an experience I will never forget! 
I will miss my friend.




Truly one of the best and friendliest persons I have ever known. We met when we both worked at Chevrolet dealerships years ago. So knowledgeable on cars and knew how to make his car run at the drag strip. And they were so clean he could take them to a car show the next day and win there too. He will be missed greatly. Prayers to his family.

Raced with Dan in early 80's through 95..Not only was he a fierce competitor, but also a great guy always willing to help a fellow racer...My condolences to all of the Welch family and his friends for your loss!!..R.I.P. Dan you were one of the good guys!!
