David Arthur Garner, 74, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at his home in Wichita, Kansas. He was born January 18, 1949 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Woodrow and Lodima Garner. David married the love of his life of almost 52 years on August 20, 1971, Susan L. O'Hearn and to this union three sons were born, Jeff, Tom, and Davey.
David worked most of his working career in the Aircraft Industry at Cessna and Boeing in Wichita. He was all around a jack-of-all-trades. David worked and helped repair the Air Force One in Wichita which he was very proud of. He enjoyed racing cars & go-karts, watching NasCar or any sporting event his boys liked, going bowling, and enjoyed having a nice cold beer with his neighbor, Anthony. David and Susan loved to go fishing together at BEA Lake to spend quality time together.
David was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend as he loved his family over anything in the world.
He was preceded in death by: his father; his step dad, Harold Lange; his brothers, Steve Lange and Kenny Lange.
He is survived by: his mother, Lodima Lange of Tucson, AZ; his wife, Susan Garner of Wichita, KS; his children, Jeff Garner of Wichita, KS, Tom (Tiffanee) Garner of Pretty Prairie, KS, Davey (Jennifer) Garner of Kansas City, KS; his two brothers, Tim Garner and Mike Lange of Tucson, AZ; his 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been effected.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks or flowers can be sent to Grace Cottage, 531 N. Crestline Street, Wichita, Kansas 67212 to Susan Garner.
