David was raised in Wichita, Kansas and after graduation from high school, enlisted in the Navy and served on the USS America in the Vietnam theatre. After his honorable discharge he returned to Wichita and partied pretty hard until his marriage to Marsha Windorski (Struble) in 1982, and then maybe partied some more. They eventually settled down and raised two kids together in Douglass, Kansas. During that time, when he wasn’t at work or working hard at home, he enjoyed canoeing and golfing with friends while wearing his signature turtle hat. With the help of Marsha, David instilled in his children the value of hard work and attention to detail. He did so fiercely, but also with a wry sense of humor and a healthy amount of dad jokes. After retirement and the kids left home, David and Marsha relocated to Derby, Kansas where they enjoyed the company of friends and neighbors and visiting the grandkids.
David is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Marsha Windorski of the home; his son, Jered (Paige) Windorski of Omaha NE; and his daughter, Jessica (Andrew) White of Portland, TX and their children; as well as his brother, Greg (Kathy) Windorski of Jacksonville, FL. We are forever grateful for the way you have shaped our lives.
