

Debrah was born in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Paul & Betty Hixson. In her early life she and her parents lived in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Colorado, before they settled in Wichita. Debrah attended Truesdell Jr. High and then Wichita West high.
In May 1971 she married Allen Jaeckel. Allen was in the Air Force, so their first home was in Germany. They spent the next 20 years mostly overseas, with a few years in the western United States. When Allen retired, they made Wichita their home. Debbe obtained her degree in Elementary Education from Newman University. She promptly received a teaching position with the Wichita School District where she taught for 20 years until retirement. During this time, she completed her master’s degree from Friends University.
After retirement Deb continued with her hobbies of crocheting, cross-stitch, and knitting. When her sister retired, they began making quilts for the family. Paula would put the tops together and Deb would bind them.
Preceded in death by her parents Paul and Betty Hixson. Debrah is survived by her husband Allen Jaeckel, her three daughters, Shawndra Montgomery (Rob), Krista Hall (Doug), and Dayna Jaeckel. Brothers Everett Hixson (Robin), Kent Hixson (Cande) Sister Paula Jaeckel-Stine. Grandchildren Tanner Jaeckel, Jacob Hall (Jordan), Ben Hall (Sue), Samantha Montgomery, Grace Worley (Jackson), Michael Montgomery, Jarod Ogle. Great grandchildren, Emerson, Lily, Eden, Hendrix, and Declan, and nephews and nieces.
Debrah will be cremated. A memorial service will be held be August 13, 7pm. 361 South CityView, Wichita, KS
