She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert Gene Witherspoon; her son, David Alan Witherspoon and her sister, Betty Barber.
Delores is survived by her son, Michael (Cindy) Witherspoon; her grandchildren: Shawn (Rachel) Witherspoon, Sarah (Corey) Alix, Joseph (Shanna) Witherspoon and Thomas (Candace) Witherspoon; her sister, Wilma Gore; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with funeral service starting at 10:00 a.m. -- both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209. Committal service will immediately follow the service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in the Garden of Cross.
She was a member of the following churches, successively: Hillside Christian, Westlink Christian, First Baptist Wichita and Country Acres Baptist.
Delores was most devotedly a wife, mother, and homemaker, though she was employed by Emprise Bank, Shepler's of Wichita, and The Back Porch.
She enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, and board games with a series of treasured lady friends. KU basketball and Notre Dame football were closely followed.
Her family is grateful for the years they had with her.
