Denton "Denny" Ray Johnson

Denton "Denny" Johnson, age 76, of Wichita, Kansas lost his battle to Parkinson's Disease on Saturday, December 9, 2023 surrounded by his family in the comforts of his home. He was born June 9, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas to Stanley and Alma Johnson.

He graduated from South High, Class of 1965 and after graduating he enlisted in The United States Navy. He served from October 1966-1970 with Honorable Discharge. After his time in The Navy, Denton worked various jobs until he started his own Lawn Irrigation Company called All Pro Sprinkler Systems. He continued to serve his customer base for the next 40 years until he was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2014. Denny and Kathy married on July 2, 1988 and between the pair they have five daughters. Denton enjoyed fishing and tinkering on various vehicles. His love of sports teams were The Kansas City Chiefs and KU Basketball.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Alma Johnson.

Denton is survived by his wife Katherine Johnson; children: Melissa Wilson (Pat), Amy Sandefer, Cindy Woods (Chris), Nadeya Lassley (Todd), and Sabrina Khan; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and sister Betty Jean Johnson of Wichita, Kansas.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 1:00 pm with inurnment to follow at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
