

Donald Gene Blunk, 96, of Wichita, KS went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Don was born the son of George and Bernadine Blunk on October 15, 1929, in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Okeene High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in education from Central State College (Edmond, Oklahoma). After college he taught typing and shorthand for one semester before being drafted into the United States Army. During the Korean War he served outside Tokyo. He trained men to protect themselves through the CBR School. Don and Mildred (Farabough) Blunk were united in marriage on June 19, 1954, in Nardin, Oklahoma; and then moved to Wichita, KS. Don got a job working for Boeing Airplane Company and worked there for 16 years. He was then employed by Wichita State University in the computer center. Don enjoyed working there for 23 years before retiring in 1994. Don was a long-time member in the fellowship of Wichita Bible Church. He served as usher and helped with the church finances. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred (Farabough) Blunk; and brother, Carl Blunk. Survivors include, daughters, Twyla (Blunk) Unruh, Diana (Blunk) Jones, Mary (Blunk) Fager; and son, James ‘Jimmie’ Blunk.
Funeral service for Don will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 1st, 2025, with visitation prior from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, at Wichita Bible Church, 633 South Woodlawn, Wichita, Kansas 67218. Burial with Military Funeral Honors following at Lakeview Cemetery in the Garden of Everlasting Life, 12100 East 13th Street North, Wichita, Kansas 67206.
