After graduating from Siloam Springs High School, Donald went on to marry Karen, on January 4, 1964, in Webb City, Oklahoma and she supported him as he served in the United States Navy from 1966-1970 where he earned the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class and served upon the USS Constellation (CVA-64).
Once home, he began a career at Boeing Aircraft Company where he later retired as a technical editor.
They attended Colonial Heights Assembly of God for over 40 years, enjoyed time on the farm, working the land, horseback riding, raising livestock and fishing along with being a member of the VFW, a supporter of Sojourner's Coffee House, and various other military and veteran organizations. Though he fulfilled his time with these, it was his time with family he truly cherished making memories with.
Preceded by his parents and brothers: Clyde Jr., Charles, and Paul; those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen; brother, Ralph (Donna) Harviston; son, Jamey Harviston; granddaughter, Ashley (Larry) King; and 3 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will take place April 1, 2024 at 1pm, with a funeral service at 2 pm. Both will occur at Colonial Heights Assembly of God, 5200 S Broadway, Wichita, Kansas, 67216. A graveside will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Love, Lot 136A, Space 4, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas, 67209.
