Donald "Don" Edward Lindeman

Don grew up in Columbus, NE, and attended Lakeview High School. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from The University of Nebraska then continued his education at Kansas University and graduating with a Master's degree.

His life and work took him to many interesting places: Kansas City, KS; Grand Rapids, MI; Tampa, FL; Fort Myers, FL; Overland Park, KS; and finally Wichita, KS. He helped design and implement the first USA desalinization plant in America, which was located in Tampa Bay, Florida. He was a big sports fan especially when it came to the K-State, Nebraska Huskers and KC Chiefs. Don loved playing games, gardening with his wife and carrying out home improvement projects like only an engineer can.

Don was a big guy (6'5") and loved life in a big way. He had a great sense of humor, loved telling jokes and had an unforgettable and contagious laugh. He will be deeply missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eldon R. Lindeman and Donna R. (Schaefer) Lindeman.

Don is survived by his wife, Kit (Weaver) Lindeman; his children, Cole and Brianne Lindeman; brother, Rick Lindeman; niece, Taylor Lindeman; his bonus children, Keith and Lindsay Nelson and Ethan and Whitney Nelson; his grandchildren: Haley, Halen, Wren, and Scottie Nelson.

A visitation will be held at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209, on March 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life will be held, 3:00 pm on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Angels Among Us, in honor of Don. Angels Among Us is an organization that provides financial and emotional support to pediatric cancer families living in or being treated in Nebraska- an organization Don & Kit have been quite involved in and are passionate about.
