What a beautiful picture of Earlene!  Earlene was so very kind and thoughtful with our family especially around holidays.  I will miss her creative skills and her presence in the kitchen with her gourmet items that she and Mike were so fond of.  My thoughts and prayers are with Mike and extended family.  She will be very missed by all of us!

We enjoyed food, fun, wine and great conversation with Earlene and Mike over the last several years. She was one of the most optimistic people we've ever met. Mike, you have a treasure trove of memories that should ease your grief. You are in our thoughts.

Mike, I was saddened to read of your loss. I will always remember my many Saturday forays to Giverny Grocery. It was like a weekly “field trip” I looked forward to. I knew I would feel welcomed like an old friend, learn of new items in the store and taste Earlene's latest favorites. Many items I still use or cook with in my kitchen I first learned of at Giverny. The first roasted green chiles available in Wichita were from your store. I also remember various evenings at the store when a small group would gather for some cooking demonstration by a chef. What a place of joy and laughter Giverny was and how I still miss it. It closed all too soon, but when you became ill, there was no question in Earlene's mind – the store would have to close, so she could be with Mike and care for him – nothing was more important to Earlene than you, Mike. While I haven't seen you since the store closed and have only seen Earlene once at Target, I did hear of her illness and know that there was nothing more important to you than Earlene, Mike. I'm certain her struggles were made easier because of you. I hope soon that the pain of her loss will be replaced by memories of the wonderful times you shared.

What a Very Special Person.  Earlene was graced with Southern Charm and everyone she meant feel in love with her. She let you know that you were her friend from the first minute you said hello.  She became a great friend and  I enjoyed our friendship. But for me she was so much more than a friend we had a special bond -- Birthday Sisters.  Earlene was two hours older than me. I will always have an empty seat at my table on that day.  Earlene taught me about so many things- anything and everything about food and herbs, friendship and most of all our love and sharing with each other.  I will deeply miss her.

My condolences and prayers throughout this season of grief. Earlene (then you!) were good friends to my family.

I knew Earlene when we worked at Cessna together. She was the sweetest and kindest person you could ever meet. So sorry to read of her passing. Beautiful lady!

Earlene was such a wonderful woman to work with. I worked with her at Target and at Convergys. I am very sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you in this time of sorrow.

Earlene is a wonderful inspiration to anyone who has struggled from cancer.  She was always positive and optimistic.  She always made you feel better and seemed to provide more comfort to those visiting her than the other way around.  There is no doubt that she loved her husband and that they were truly devoted to each other.  Her greatest memorial are her friends and loved ones and the many people whose lives she touched.  Earlene, may God keep you in the hallow of His hand and bring peace and comfort to all those who will mourn your passing.

Mike, I have only met you once but I worked with Earlene for many years.  The photo that is posted here is so her.  She had beautiful, big, expressive eyes with a little hint of feistyness. Her love for cooking  was shared when she would invite my daughter and I over for dinner. I had talked with her a few times in the past year or so and she was so happy. I LOVE THE PICTURE!  I WISH I COULD BE THERE BUT KNOW THAT YOU HAVE BEEN IN MY CONSTANT THOUGHTS.  YOU HAVE BEEN MY LONGEST AND DEAREST FRIEND FOR 42 YEARS AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THERE--IN THE GOOD TIMES AND THE BAD!  I ALWAYS KNEW ALL I HAD TO DO WAS PICK UP THE PHONE! I don't know where to begin...Earlene was one of those special people that come into your life and bring you laughter and fun and will always be in my heart.  I will miss her wit, and, of course, her brilliant expertise in the kitchen.  And her friendship.  Mike you are in our prayers.

I am so thankful I was able to spend some time recently with one of my best (and most  unique) friends.  She was "Earlene" till the end, we laughed and reminesced.  Earlene will always have a very special place in my heart.  What a life she lived!!  Her stories, ideas, and advice will always be with me.  She was a beautiful lady inside and out - I miss her but know I will see her again.  Earlene and Mike both played important parts in my life; I am grateful and fortunate for having them as friends.

Earlene was a great friend and was the Maid of Honor at my wedding in 1983.  I am saddened to hear of her passing.  She was truly one of a kind and will be missed!  My deepest sympathies to you, Mike...keep her memory close...it does comfort.

I will remember Earlene as such a cheerful and giving person, always checking on my parents next door.  My mother considered her a dear friend.  She was taken too soon, but we will always remember her kindness.

I've heard of you for years through your husband's cousin, Tammy, one of my college friends. Our prayers & love go to your beautiful family all the way from Michigan.  Thankfully in God's loving hands.

There simply are not enough words to adequately express how much we loved you, Earlene, and how deeply grateful we are for the memories of our times together as couples, and our girl talks over the nearly 30 years I was blessed with our very special friendship.  As you said, even when we were unable to connect for long periods, when we got together it was just the continuation of our conversation!  Though we miss your presence, your spirit left a deep imprint on our hearts that will last until we meet again in Heaven.  Ron and I love you dearly and will do all we can to be there for your beloved, "Mikey".  Be at peace and in joy, dear one.  You are truly "one of a kind"!
