Edward Lee Halgunseth passed away on August 24, 2025. He was born July 06,1929 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Flossie and Eddie Halgunseth.
Edward graduated from Abercrombie High School in North Dakota. He joined the Army in January 1949, reaching the rank of Sergeant. He served in the Korean war and was honorably discharged in January 1952.
Edward worked for A-1 Concrete for many years. He finished his career at Walt Keeler Company, retiring in 1994.
Edward loved NASCAR and was thrilled to do a ride along in a race car at Kansas Motor Speedway. He also enjoyed fishing and playing softball.
Edward married Florence (Flo) Bennett and had two children, Cheryl and Brian. Along with three step sons Michael, Bernie, and Kevin. They were married for 65 years.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, and two brothers.
Edward is survived by his daughter Cheryl (David) Stanton, and three step sons Bernie (Melodee) King, Kevin King, and Michael King. Thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
A visitation for Edward will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 1:00 PM, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. A graveside service will occur, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
