

Edwards Jay Dean Thrush, affectionately known as “Ed,” passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, in Belle Plaine, Kansas, at the age of 61. Born on December 30, 1963, in Wichita, Kansas, Ed lived a life marked by quiet joy, deep family bonds, and a warm sense of humor that touched everyone around him.
Ed grew up in a lively household with three brothers, forming lifelong connections that shaped his generous and grounded nature. He was a devoted father to Nicole Corbett and Tracey Thrush, and a proud grandfather to Broden Hysom, Cale Serpan Jr., Noah Corbett, and great-grandson Grey Hysom. His love extended to his cherished dogs, Willow and Arthur Edwards Thrush, who were constant companions in his later years.
A man of simple pleasures, Ed found peace in riding his motorcycle and nurturing his tomato plants. He had a gift for bringing humor into any situation, making those around him feel at ease and appreciated. His life was centered around his family, and he found true joy in spending time with his daughters, grandsons, and “grand-dogs.”
Ed is survived by his brothers Scott Thrush and Martin Puentes, daughters Nicole and Tracey, grandchildren Broden, Cale Jr., and Noah, great-grandson Grey, and his beloved pets. He was preceded in death by his mother Sharon Cofer and brother Curtis Thrush.
Ed’s legacy is one of quiet strength, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
