Elmer Eugene LeRoy, age 91, retired Cessna employee, died Saturday, February 27, 2021. Elmer was born on July 13, 1929, in Great Bend, KS, the son of Andrew and Lillie (Fenn) LeRoy. He was baptized into Christ on August 4, 1929 and confirmed on June 30, 1943 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Albert, KS. On May 23, 1947, Elmer graduated from Great Bend High School.
Growing up, Elmer helped his father and uncle with farming. He also worked for an appliance store in Great Bend, KS.
Elmer was united in marriage to Mary Ann Brack on October 14, 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church at Otis, KS. To this union a daughter, Kimberly was born in 1960.
In 1963, the family moved to Wichita. Elmer was good in woodworking and made several pieces of furniture. When Bethesda Lutheran Thrift Store opened, Elmer helped to organize the store. He loved his church and his family, especially his daughter, Kimberly. In September 2018, Elmer entered Reflection Living and later moved to Mt. Hope Nursing Home in February of 2019.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond and Alvin; niece, Janet McPherson; nephew, Ed LeRoy; and four sisters-in-law.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Ann; daughter, Kimberly; brother, Wayne; nieces, Judy Blankenship and Lila Fuller; nephews, Bill LeRoy and Allan Popp; brother-in-law, Paul Popp.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 5, at Ascension Lutheran Church, Wichita. Graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Wichita.
