Emma Errolene (Farmer) McClintick, 97, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Wichita, died peacefully on Thursday, February 1, surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and daughter, Lisa DeArman, as well as three sisters Mary Majors, Donna Woolsey, and Corilee Farmer. Survivors include daughters Carol Mulvey (John) of Dallas, Texas, and Kathryn Peters (Daniel) of Wichita, as well as grandchildren Ashley Thompson, Lindsay Knepprath and David DeArman, and great grandchildren Olivia and Chloe Thompson all of Texas.
Born in Commerce, Oklahoma, Errolene later moved to Bartlesville where she met the love of her life, Robert, at the YMCA. His lifelong career with the Y took them to Dallas and then to Wichita where he was named General Executive. Errolene was a dedicated Y wife and devoted mother of three daughters. She was a founding member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church and served as senior warden, junior warden, and treasurer. She was also a faithful member of the altar guild and the craft guild. If she wasn’t volunteering at the church or at the St. Joseph Hospital Gift Shop, she could almost always be found in the garden or on the golf course. She was an active member of Wichita Women’s Golf Association and won several senior golf tournaments.
Errolene moved to Dallas at the age of 89 to live with daughter, Carol, and son-in-law, John. She became a member of Church of the Holy Communion Cathedral where she faithfully attended bible study and was a prolific knitter for the prayer shawl ministry.
Special thanks and gratitude go to her angel caretakers Alice, Lily, Mary, and Regina with Merit Hospice in Dallas. Memorials may be made to Church of the Holy Communion Cathedral Prayer Shawl Ministry, 17405 Muirfield, Dallas, Texas, 75287. A funeral service was held on Friday, February 23, at Lakeview Funeral Home.
