Eulalee Anderson, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, just one day before her 93rd birthday. She was born on August 28, 1932, in Cloud County near Concordia, Kansas, to Vernard John and Iva Mae (Hillan) Dyson.
Eulalee was preceded in death by her nine siblings and her devoted husband, Eugene Anderson, the love of her life. She is survived by her three daughters, Colleen VanGemmert (Arend), Lori Schmidt (Steve) and Sherri Roush, her five cherished grandchildren, Josh Sprague, Ciara Sprague, Heather Gigax, Ryan Schmidt, Chloe Runnels and eight great-grandchildren who were the light of her life.
She grew up in Concordia, attending Hopewell School, before beginning her career as a telephone operator with Southern Bell. It was during this time in Concordia that she met Eugene, and together they built a life rooted in love, laughter and family. Her career later brought her to Topeka, where she continued her work as a telephone operator after living in several towns across Kansas.
Eulalee had a joyful spirit and a deep love of dancing. She was a proud member of the Moose Club, VFW, and American Legion and she could always be found on the dance floor whenever good music was playing. Her love of fashion was equally well known-she was always dressed to perfection, even for a quick trip to the grocery store.
At home, she enjoyed gardening and cooking. She especially treasured baking with her son-in-law’s wheat, a tradition that brought warmth and deliciousness to family gatherings. Health-conscious and full of life, she embraced her years with vitality and grace, blessing her family with 93 years of love, wisdom and laughter.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 5, at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka, Kansas.
The family kindly request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Eulalee’s honor.
This obituary can also be found through Resthaven Mortuary in Wichita, Kansas and Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
Eulalee’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
