Francisco Mendez

Francisco was a man of unwavering dedication to his family, and his beloved wife, Laurie, whom he adored deeply. His life was a testament to hard work, loyalty, and the joy of togetherness. He found immense happiness in family gatherings and celebrations, where his laughter and presence lit up the room.

Above all, Francisco cherished his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy. His devotion to his family was evident in every moment he spent with them, and his legacy will live on in the love he gave so freely.

He will be remembered for his strength, his kindness, and the deep bonds he nurtured throughout his life.

Francisco is survived by his wife, Laurie M. Mendez; children Paul Mendez, Travis Mendez (Leslie), Annette Mendez, Francisco Mendez Jr. (Heidi), Angel Mendez, and Desiree Mapes (Ryan Conner); siblings Mary Clark (Lucio), Simon Mendez Jr., Juanita Kalp (Fred), and Juan Mendez (Karen); grandchildren Candice Burdick, Preston Burdick (Victoria Roebuck), Cody Burdick (Shaylene Payton), Mariah Burdick, Travis Mendez Jr., Addison Mendez, Corbin Mendez, Ozzy Mendez, Felicity Mendez (Josh Warzek), Jada McVay (Aiden Chavez), Brooklyn Claussen (C.J.), Manuel Sandoval, Lillian Dunbar, Lilly Mendez, Samuel Mendez, Zoey Dunbar, Lucas Mendez, Brody Schwabauer, and Charlee Schwabauer; great grandchildren Alexia, Bentley, Kyden, Faith, Serenity, Aiden, Skyler, Asher, Bryan, Mariana, Aubri, Amyla, Alaya, Tatum, Aysli, Averi, and baby Claussen, and his beloved cat Buddy.

Francisco was preceded in death by his father Simon Mendez and his mother Lupe Rubio Mendez; sons Frankie Mendez and Daniel Mendez; brother-in-law Robert Kalp; and grandson Matthew Burdick.

A Visitation for Francisco will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E 13TH ST N, Wichita, KS 67206.

A Visitation will occur Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by A Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM at New Life Covenant Church, 1819 W Douglas Ave, Wichita, KS 67213.

After the service, the committal will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, 12100 E 13th St N, Wichita, KS 67206.
