

Bell, Frank, Jr., 89, entered eternal life Aug. 15, 2011. He passed away at his home in Wichita, KS on Aug. 15th where he lived with his wife of 59 yrs, Nola (Honer) Bell. Visitation at Resthaven Mortuary at 12 noon, Thursday, Aug. 18th and service will follow at 1:00 pm. He was born in Flat Rock, IL October 27, 1921 to Frank Bell, Sr. and Ethel (Poe) Bell. He joined the Navy at 17 and served aboard the USS Salt Lake City Heavy Cruiser for 6 years and saw a lot of action in the South Pacific. He received 33 battle stars and was highly decorated. He worked for Vim Trailer 27 years as foreman, then retired and continued to work his own business, Bell’s Welding Service until he was 86. His hobbies included boat racing till he was 64 and he spent 3 years building a replica of his ship that he displayed in many parades in the area. He was preceded by stepdaughter Helen Allen, brother William, sister Mary Gump. Survivors are wife, daughter Angela Cooper and husband Ormin Cooper of Bertrand, MO, step daughter Frances Stewart and husband Richard Stewart III of Eagle Rock, MO, sisters Joann Brown and Norma Bradley of Wichita, grandchildren Christina Wray of Camarillo, CA, Jason Wray of Dexter, MO, Pat Snyder of Wichita, Rick Stewart of Peck, KS, Brian Allen of OK, Sabrina Allen of Wichita, great grandchildren Mason Snyder and Morgan Stewart of Wichita, Tabatha and Timmy O’Rourke of Wichita and so many very dear friends. Memorial funds established with American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
