Gary Lawrence Ott, 78, passed away January 20, 2023. He was born May 5, 1944 in Wichita, KS and grew up in Eureka, KS. He graduated from East High School in Wichita and later graduated from Emporia State University. Gary worked at Wichita State University for 40 years and served as the Director of the Computing Center for many years. Gary was an avid fan of St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and Wichita State Shocker Basketball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Alberta (Todd), his brother Melvin Ott, sister-in-law Sharon Ott, and sister-in-law Carol Ott.
Gary is survived by his wife, Anita, his children Christy Murcek (Rich), Tracey Bauer (Matt); grandchildren, Kylie Murcek, Jaclyn Murcek, Nic Murcek, Tyler Bauer, Trevor Bauer, and Lexi Bauer; brother Ron Ott. Nephew David Ott, nieces Barbara Borg, Janice Steffen, Julie Regier, Lisa Greenstreet.
A Visitation for Gary with family present will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary 11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
A Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 1:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary chapel with committal service to follow.
