76, retired school teacher, passed away on February 18, 2018. George taught students at John Marshall, Horace Mann, Meade Junior High and Butler County Community College. After retiring in education, he went to work for the SRS as a social worker and then retired after 20 years of service. George was also an avid stamp collector who loved reading and traveling with his wife, often stopping at casinos. Above all work and hobbies, he was a devoted family man. George was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary Cook; brothers, Charles and Bill Cook; sister, Florene Scarbrough. He is survived by wife of 28 years, DeeAnn Dickerson-Cook; son, Duane (Gail) Cook; step-daughter, Mondee Ward; brother, Fred Cook; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018. Celebration of Life at 3 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018, both at Resthaven Mortuary.
