Today is the second anniversary of my late brother's death.  But my sadness lingers and I fear I will grieve forever.  I don't know how many times the last two years I planned to call him and talk about baseball, politics or family matters only to remember he is gone.   It is just difficult. 
I remember the day he was born when my father took me to see your new baby brother There was five years difference in our ages but we had a strong relationship.  He tagged along with me often to ball games and other activities.  We rode our bikes together sometimes several miles to Wichita University for football games.  Cost 25 cents.  We had paper routes together, he covering Topeka and Emporia streets between Mt Vernon and Pawnee streets and me the same streets from Mt Vernon to Harry streets. 
 We had some good and bad experiences.  When he was still a youngster he pulled a pot of boiling hot Jelly off the stove and was badly burned.  He carried scars during the years he was growing.  Another memory was at Lawrence stadium where a group of boys were standing outside the park hoping to catch a foul ball.  He chased after one that hit a head light and Glen cut his hand pretty badly.  The stadium staff helped us and we rode home in a police car that night.  One other time Glen and I decided to play a joke on mother.  I ran through the door out of breath and told mother to come quick Glen has been hit by a car.  The very moment I said it I knew it was the wrong thing to do, just from the desperate look on mothers face.  So I quickly told her it was a joke.  She didn't get mad, just admonished us it was nothing to joke about. 
I remember when he got his first car, but missed his wedding because I was in the Army at the time.  But I did help him move to Colorado and helped him move back to Wichita.  We have lived apart for the past 40 to 50 years but I saw him often on my trips home to Wichita,  He visited me on a few occasions in California too.  It is when I visit Wichita that I really miss him.  On my visits home he always welcomed me and we spent a lot of time together playing golf, enjoying meals with others in the family, and just sitting around his den talking.  
I miss him dearly.

 just finished rereading Glen's obituary and viewing the photos.  It brings me to tears but I do it frequently because it brings back fond memories of all the good times we had together as brothers.  There was five years difference in ages but we still grew up together and were very close during those years.  Glen tagged along with me  to ball games, golf games and we spent a lot of time together.  We both had paper routes, rode our bicycles all across Wichita, went to the same church and had the same favorite sport teams.  



I will be returning home next week for my annual visit.  That is when Glen's death hits me the hardest.  In other years we spent my vacation together playing golf, at family gatherings, watching baseball, and just sitting around his den talking about sports, politics and old times.   Now the only thing left is to visit the grave site.  



I miss him every day.

I just found out that Glen has left us. My Sincere Sympathies go out to all his Family and Friends. He was my Landlord for about 5 years and was just a wonderful person. I truly hope that all of the memories you have of him will help to fill the hole that I know has been left.

Today, December 11, is my late brother's birthday.  He would have been 77.  I remember the day with fondness.  Our birthdays were only seven days apart so mother would plan the celebration the weekend between so we had two parties on the same day.  I miss Glen every day.

It has been one year since my brother Glen died.  I miss him very much.  My annual visit to Wichita last August just wasn't the same with him gone.  We always got together along with his sons Craig and Jim for golf baseball games and family gatherings.  My trips usually ended with Glen and Dee Ann inviting me to a breakfast before heading to the airport.  I miss that too.  I fear my sorrow will never end.

Prayers for you and your family Craig. It's hard to lose our dads.

I first met Glen the day he was born when my dad took me to see "my new baby brother"  There was 5 years difference in our ages but he was a wonderful brother, friend and companion. From the time he was allowed out on his own, he tagged along with me to ball games or wherever I was headed.  He even went along for my first golf game and carried my bag.  After I moved to California our get-togethers were less frequent but he always welcomed me on my visits to Wichita.  We also kept in touch almost weekly by phone.  Even after all that happened today at the funeral I still cant believe he is gone.  I will miss him forever.  A special sympathy to my sister in law Dee Ann, and nephews Craig and Jim and to all the other family.

I will miss Glen and his friendly greeting as I work out at the y downtown. He always had a smile and was sincerely interested in people and their well being.

I will miss Glen terribly,  He was the biggest reason I came to Wichita after my mom died.  He was a true friend, and a great golfer.  Rest well dear friend.

Glen was a hilarious man - he always had a good time teasing me any time he could - he sat with friends at our softball games and gave me grief for catching - he was my paperboy for a while after he retired, I think he threw the paper in the bushes on purpose -  the last time I saw him was at a quik trip - he yelled at me across the parking lot "hey waegener - you finally get out or prison ??" I just loved the guy and he will be missed.

Glen was a good friend at the downtown "Y" and I will miss his smile and humor every day!

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.  I got to know Glen through the Downtown YMCA.  We used to walk together and  he helped during the Strong Kids Campaign.  He will be missed.
