

Harold Harp, 92, passed away on May 13, 2012. He was born in Grenola, Ks to Virgil Perry Harp and Anna Clark Harp. He came to Wichita as a young man. He spent his work life at Beech Aircraft, as a Scheduler and Stock Room Supervisor. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps, repairing aircraft in Cairo and Casablanca.
After 40 years as a Beechcrafter, Harold moved on to his retirement jobs. His life was enriched by work at Economy Corner, Friendship Force, Victory in the Valley, Music Theatre Guild, First Presbyterian Transportation Program, and VITA. All aspects of his life support his self-written epitaph - “A Willing Helper to Family, Friend and Neighbor.”
Harold is survived by daughters Marilyn Harp (Marc Quillen), of Lawrence, and Barbara White (Greg) of Shawnee, grandchildren Ellen Quillen, Kevin Quillen, Spencer White, and Courtney Prebish (Jon). Also surviving are sisters Ethel Meier, Marie Kern, Beaulah Eastman (Bill), all of Wichita, and Doris McClure, of Pretty Prairie. Preceding him in death are his parents, sister Edith Bonfiglio, brother Cecil Harp, and Dorothy Clark Harp, his wife of nearly 40 years.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 on Tuesday, May 15 at First Presbyterian Church, 525 N Broadway, Wichita. Memorial gifts to First Presbyterian Church Foundation or Economy Corner.
