

Hockelberg, Harold C. ‘Hock’, 92 passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014. He was born August 30, 1922 in Valparaiso, Indiana. Hock had a passion for flying, first as a boy, then as a pilot in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. He remained in the Air Force after the war as a career pilot, serving in Japan, Korea, and Europe. After retirement from the Air Force, Hock worked for Cessna, Flight Safety and other aircraft related businesses as a pilot and instructor, certified to fly numerous aircraft. He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie, after 67 years of marriage; brothers Roy, Robert; sister Grace Lutes, and is survived by son Craig (Myla) Hockelberg of Costa Rica; daughter Connie (Mert) Buckley of Wichita; 4 grandchildren Will Sarah Bright of Jacksonville, FL, Jamie (Berry) Banks of Kingman, KS, Travis Buckley of Lawrence, Kyle Buckley of Wichita; and a week-old great-granddaughter, Olivia Banks who he first met last Saturday. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Lakeview Funeral Home. Memorial Service Monday, 11:00 a.m. at University Congregational Church, 9209 E. 29th St. North, Wichita.
