

He was inducted into the Army in December 1943 and was assigned to an Air Corps bomber crew, stationed in Italy until his discharge in November 1945.
Following the Army, and after a brief stint farming near Macksville, KS, he worked for the railroad from 1948 to 1950. He joined The Boeing Company in 1950, serving in many capacities both in Wichita and Seattle, and retired in April 1986 after 36 years of service.
His next career was that of care-giver for his wife, Bonnie, as her health began to fail. That career lasted 15 years until her passing in 2001. For the past 9 years he has resided in North Carolina.
Harry is survived by his son Randy and wife Patsy of Centennial, CO; daughter Shari of Southport, NC; granddaughter Kimberly Gilbreath and husband Jeff; and great granddaughters Hunter and Devin Gilbreath of Aurora, CO. He is also survived by his mother, Blanche Hawes, of Cunningham, KS; sister-in-law Twyla Hodson of Cunningham, KS and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie; father Harold Hodson and brother Louis Hodson.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Ocean Trail Convalescent Center, Secret Garden Project in Harry Hodson's name, 630 N. Fodale Ave., Southport, NC 28461.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at 11:00 am at Resthaven Mortuary Chapel, 11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichtia, KS 67209.
