Ida Jean accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was baptized at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee.
Ida Jean attend Florida Elementary, Carver Jr. High School. She received her high school diploma from the Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, Tennessee.
Ida Jean was united in marriage to Theopolis Jordan, Jr. To this marriage three children were born LaTina Faye Jordan, Debra Ann (Jordan) Warren and James Theopolis “Chuckie" Jordan, III.
Ida Jean worked for 19 years in Radiology at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis Tennessee.
Ida Jean married the love of her life Obadiah (Obie) Blackmon Sr. on Thanksgiving Day November 25, 1982.
Ida Jean moved to Wichita, KS with her husband Obie following there marriage. She continued her career at the Wichita Clinic for many years. She united with St. Andrews MBC and she later joined St. Mark UMC where she remained a faithful member until her health declined.
Ida Jean loved the Lord and people. She never met a stranger, Obie would say, “My wife would talked to a tree if it would talk back.” She was always concerned about others and would always leaned a helping hand. She loved her family and friends and in her words, "cherished her beautiful Debra for all her love and care". Most of all she loved the Lord and lived her life accordingly.
Ida Jean is preceded in death by her parents, son; James T. Jordan, III, brother; Henry Ford, Jr. and her loving and devoted husband of 37 years Obadiah Blackmon, Sr.
To cherish her memory: her sisters; Ethel Burdette (Maryland) and Lee White (Memphis), her daughter and caretaker Debra Ann Warren (Wichita), daughters; LaTina Jordan (Memphis), Sheila Blackmon (Wichita), son; Obadiah Blackmon, Jr. (Wichita), granddaughter; Antaria LeJeanne Clark, god-granddaughter; Jillisa Brown, six grandsons; Anton Armour, Charlton Beasley, Daniel Warren (Ashley), Christopher Warren, Michael Wilder and Carl Blackmon, a very special niece and caretaker, Alice Watson and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Celebration of Life service will be 11am on Saturday July 20, 2019 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Inurnment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita.
