

Jacob graduated from Mulvane High School and pursued a life of service joining the United States Air Force in July, 2015.
Jacob was known for his outgoing personality, infectious humor, and boundless energy. He was a light in every room and a friend to all who knew him. He was married to the love of his life, Maci James, and together they shared five joyful years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Their bond was anchored by their greatest joy -- their beloved son, Waylon.
Jacob's role as a husband and father was his greatest source of pride; he was endlessly devoted to his family and friends. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.
He is survived by: his loving & devoted wife, Maci James; his son, Waylon James; his parents, Chuck and Cindy James; his sisters, Lindsay James and Alana (Ryan) Hobbs; his brothers, Garrett (Therese) James and Wyatt (Ana) James; along with 13 nieces and nephews who adored him dearly and loved being around his joyful spirit.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 7:30 PM on Thursday, September 25, 2025; Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM on Friday, September 26, 2025, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 861 North Socora Street, Wichita, Kansas 67212. Inurnment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Christus, Wichita.
