Jim married the love of his life, Caroline "Kay" Mosley on June 5, 1961. Together they shared 62 years of marriage. Jim worked at Cessna Aircraft for 43 years.
Jim and Kay loved horses and went on many trail ride adventures. In his early years, he was an avid outdoorsman, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family.
Jim and Kay were foster parents to countless children in need of care and love. The most important aspect in Jim's life was his family, friends, and beloved pets.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; along with his siblings, Dean Bratt, Jerry Bratt, Pat Moran, and Sheila Moler.
He is survived by: his four children, James J. Bratt, Kimberly (John) Uerkvitz, Jeffery "Jeff" (Jimi) Bratt, and Juliann (Malcolm) Young; his sister, Phyllis Ann (David) Curtis; along with 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be 9:30 AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209. Graveside Inurnment Service will follow at approximately 11:30 AM at Caldwell City Cemetery, 1631 Sunflower Road, Caldwell, Kansas 67022.
