James Eddie Evans

James Eddie Evans was born September 1, 1934 to Callie Collins in Greenwood, Mississippi. The only child. She preceded him in death. He married Jerildine Blackwell (Cobb). In that union two sons were born. Later he married Sarah woods and to that union two daughters were born. After moving to Wichita, KS he was united with Progressive Baptist Church. He was employed at Globe Enigineering, then later self employed. In 2009 he united with Living Word Christian Center, where he served faithfully, until his health failed him. He loved to smile, meeting people, helping where ever he could and he loved children. As well as his very special sister Shirley Goines Lewis. He leaves to mourn his best friend and lovely companion Shirley M. Beans, sons Terry (Diane) Evans from Delray FL, Larry Evans from Seattle WA, James (Kim) Evans Jr. Delbert (Tammy) Parker, Charles Beans, Walter (Brittany) Beans, Alvin Gunter, Louise Beans all of Wichita. Daughters, Pam Evans from Denver CO, Vickie Evans, Connie (Lester) Wells, Donna Rowe, Rita (Curtis) Fisher, and June (Dominic) Smith, Shirley (Boe) Reed, Arbura Beans, Patricia Newby all of Wichita. A host of Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, nieces and newphews with relatives and friends. James passed away April 8, 2013.Visitation Friday 1-7p.m. with Funeral Service 3p.m. Saturday April 13, 2013 all at Hillside Funeral Home East.
