94, passed away peacefully in the arms of his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. He was born January 30, 1922 in Clinton, OK. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John and Fannie (Pevehouse) Murray; his wife, Mildred C. (Kerschen); one son, Brad Murray; and brother, Melvin John. He is survived by his children, John Murray, Wichita, KS; daughter, Myra Kay (Murray) (spouse Larry) Martin, Hugoton; daughter by love, Debra Alaniz, Wichita, KS; four grandchildren, Joe (Lorie) Martin, Jeff (Virginia) Martin, Marsha (Martin) Beaudry, and Getana (Martin) (spouse Balente) Ortiz; five great grandchildren, George and Sarah Martin, Madilyne Beaudry, Jenna and Martin Ortiz. Jim moved to Wichita, KS. from OK, where he was self- employed all of his life and ran J.I. Murray Sand & Gravel company until he retired. He served in the United States Army in Germany and France during World War II as a Seargant and later served in the Korean war. His passions were playing cards, poker, gin, rummy, and turkey shoots. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 and funeral service 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 both at Resthaven Mortuary.
