It's been a year and I know I'm not the only one when I say it still doesnt seem real. You and Jodell are missed. Every day. I'm sorry.

Hey there old man, boy do I miss saying that when I would come over and hang out with you. You were my buddy and I truely miss not being able to see you. I loved the relationship we had and I know in my heart you did too. Please give Mom a big hug for me as today is her birthday and I can't do it myself. Watch over us as we celebrate Moms life that we were able to share until she was taken from us. This is a hard day for me so please watch over and let me know I will be ok. I miss you both very much!!

In this journey of life there are people along the way that you interact with that leave an indelible mark. Uncle Jim, you were one of those people. I will never forget your laugh and uncanny sense of humor. Thank you for being there for my sister when she needed it. Rest easy.

Well dad...Unfortunately today is the day I have to say goodbye. I'm not ready yet dad. I absolutely hate that after today I will never hear your voice again. I won't ever be able to pull your finger. Your laugh, your ornry grin, your hands so strong.  I cherish you and will forever hold you and every memory of you in my heart. 
I remember how mom would laugh at us when we sang "beans beans the musical fruit" (Which you taught me). The times we would pull each others fingers  (tooting) just to drive moma crazy. 
I don't know if I ever told you enough how much I appreciated all your support with my nail competitions. You and mom drove me to so many states and we always had fun. You would hug me when I placed and hug me even harder when I didn't.  And that meant a lot because anyone who knows you, knows you are not a hugger. 
I appreciate and cherish you raising me. I know it was new territory for both of us.  I was the 1st girl you had to raise and you were my 1st and only father. How lucky I was and am to have you in my life.  I wish this was all a terrible dream that I could wake up from. I will miss the smell of coffee brewing in the morning. I will miss how you hated to share your banana cake with chocolate frosting that moma always made for you. I loved going camping as a family. I learned quickly not to ride the bull! But I sure did enjoy watching you knock others off the tube. 
I wish I told you more how thankful I am to have you. Dad you gave me a wonderful gift...YOU and I will always always and forever keep you with me.

I worked with Jim at The Kansas Food Bank and we shared a laugh everyday.....going to miss you Jim....RIP friend.

To Killgore boys & family - I am so sorry to hear the passing of your Dad. I have always treasured the good memories we shared with both your Mom & Dad. You all are in our prayers.

Jim and Jodell got such a kick that my Bob (two years older than Jim) called Jim "Uncle."  They were so much a joyful part of the Pugh family gatherings at Stratton (that Jodell worked hard to keep going and prepare for) and the last few Thanksgiving dinners in Goodland.  They both left us much too soon and that they will no longer be "on this earth" is hard to imagine--they leave a void that can't be filled.  My heart and deepest sympathies go out to all who meant so much to Jim.

You will be truely missed. I know you are now with Momma but didnt want you to leave so soon. I didnt call you Dad and everyone wondered why. It isnt that I didnt look at you as my Dad, it is more that you were my very good friend. I knew you before you became my stepdad and our relationship has grown over the years. You mean the world to me and I am truely going to miss you! I am so lost without you and Mom and my heart is broken that you both left so soon. I love you.
