Janet Susan Ness

Janet Susan Virchow Ness, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. She was born in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, on June 8, 1948, to Elmo “Butch” O. Virchow and Ella Mae (Johnson) Virchow.

Janet married Randolph (“Randy”) Ness on July 27, 1968. She was an administrative assistant at Beechcraft for many years before she retired to enjoy more time with Randy and dedicate herself to her crafts. She was proud to serve as the President of her chapter at Professional Secretaries International (PSI) and was an active member of the organization for many years. Janet was very talented with just about any and all crafts, and did a variety of them over the years. Her true passion was quilting and she made many beautiful quilts that will be cherished for many years to come. Jan spent a lot of time not only making crafts but she also enjoyed attending craft shows where she often set up shop and sold her crafts. Reading was another one of her passions, along with riding her bike and spending time with her kitty, Tillie and her two birds, Sky and Blue.

Janet is preceded in death by her loving husband, Randolph (“Randy”) Ness; her parents Butch and Ella Virchow, and her brother, Lonny Virchow.

She is survived by her son, Gregory (Chelsie) Ness; brothers, Gary Virchow and Jeff (Liesel) Virchow; grandchildren Garrett Randolph Ness, and Tayler (Tyler) Marie Weppler,and a loving and beautiful extended family.

Due to COVID concerns, a memorial service will be held at a later date and time to be announced by the family.
