Jimmie J. LeBrun Jr.

Jimmie Jackson LeBrun Jr. age 75, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023. Jimmie was born on January 10, 1948 to Jimmie Jackson LeBrun Sr., and Frances Pauline (Richardson) LeBrun in Monroe, Louisiana.

Jimmie was born and raised in Louisiana along with 10 siblings. They loved and worked hard as a family with strong work values. He learned to work with his hands as a young boy and never stopped. Jimmie was a true southern boy, a real cowboy. He was a very protective brother, often a jokester, and was loved by all his siblings.

Jimmie lived in Galveston, Tx for many years where he raised his four children and worked for a cement company off the Gulf. He later moved to Wichita, Ks and worked for Ritchie Brothers Quikrete plant. He then remarried to Janet LeBrun (Stallbaumer) and had a daughter Cassandra LeBrun. Jimmie then worked in Residential carpentry for over 40 years.

Jimmie never knew a stranger and everyone was his friend. He had a big heart and would help anyone he could without being asked. He has numerous nieces and nephews and treated each like his own. He was known as Uncle Bokum to all of them.

As a father, he influenced his children’s love for westerns, country music, dancing, singing, football, and the rodeo. He taught his kids how to work hard, never quit, and how to do it yourself.

He later was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren whom he loved deeply and was extremely playful and loving to them all.

Jimmie loved his neighbors and the community around him, he was always doing something for someone. He would give you his shirt off his back at any given moment. Everyone was family and his handshake was his word.

He loved the open road, traveling, and long road trips to see his family.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers: Bob, Joseph, Darryl Wayne, and Gary.

Survivors include his wife: Janet LeBrun (Stallbaumer) of Wichita, Ks;

Daughters Sheila LeBrun of Savannah, Ga; Melissa LeBrun, husband Tom Engberg of Goddard, Ks; Tonya LeBrun Savannah, Ga; Cassandra LeBrun Martin, husband Nick Martin of Wichita, Ks; Son: Jasen LeBrun, Fiancé Missy Wohlford of Haven, Ks.

Jimmie has 13 grandchildren: Logan, Ashley, Jacquelyn, Katelyn, Jacob, Ali, Wyatt, Dalten, Sammi, Haley, Savannah, Dakota, Jolene.

Jimmie has 9 great-grandkids: Zander, Mallory, Kenzie, Lincoln, Braxton, Carson, Marley, Kora, Lilliana.

Sisters: Sue (LeBrun) Galyean, husband Butch Galyean, Oak Grove, LA; Frances (LeBrun) Carroll, husband Jim Carroll, Morrilton,AR ; Millie LeBrun, Bastrop, LA; Brothers: Ronald Lyn LeBrun, San Antonio, TX; Calvin LeBrun, Bastrop, LA.
