John D. Howell, 84, passed away on December 21, 2018. He was born in Danville, KS, to Mary Evelyn and Roy Howell on December 30, 1933. John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Polly O. Howell; children Judy Worrell-Wilson (Jimmy), Nick (Becky), Kevin (Cindy); grandchildren Ryan (Grant) Worrell, Brett (Stefanie) Worrell, Maggie (Patrick) Engemann, John Howell, Ashley and Parker Howell; great-grandchildren Adelia, Isabel and EllaGrace Engemann and John Rodger Worrell.
John worked 40 years as an Avionics Engineer and retired from Boeing Co. His greatest joy was sitting in the stands watching his grandchildren compete in soccer, football, wrestling, track and baseball. He gave his family the gift of his faith, which they saw put into action helping others.
On Wednesday, December 26, 2018, viewing and rosary will be at 1:30pm, with funeral service following at 2pm, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 123 N. Andover Rd., Andover, KS. Burial at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorials in his name can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church or Catholic Care Center.
