Wynkoop, John Donald, 79, died August 20, 2012. John graduated in 1958 from the University of Kansas in Civil Engineering and was a lifelong KU fan. He went to work for the Wichita Water Department in 1960 and became the department director in 1973. He retired in 1983 and took up his lifelong passion of golf at the Willowbend Country Club and eventually earned the nickname of Mr. Golf for his devotion and talents. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Sherrie and son Karl. His survivors are sons, Eric (Nirmala) Wynkoop of Kansas City, MO, Paul (Mary Ann) Wynkoop of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Joshua, Spencer, Logan, Alpha and Elijah Wynkoop. Visitation with family present is Friday 6 to 8 pm and funeral service is 1:00 pm Saturday, Aug. 25 at Resthaven Mortuary
