August 29, 2021.
One of The Independent School’s earliest students, Josh graduated into 7th grade at Blessed Sacrament before Independent had a middle school. He graduated from Kapaun-Mount Carmel High School in 1995 and spent his next semester on a full scholarship to study drama at Butler Co. Community College.
He is survived by his parents Roger & Holly Fischer of Wichita, KS; Grandfather, Eugene Holland of Olathe; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his newest friend Kathryn, whose recent company he treasured greatly. Joshua was preceded in death by Grandparents John Edward and Ida-Elizabeth Hunter of MO, Art & Bertha Fischer of Pratt, KS, Georgia Porter of Independence, Betty Holland of Olathe and Larry Porter (Susan) of Ft. Scott KS.
Joshua had a passion for theatre, performing in various local plays during his school years and volunteering long hours behind the scenes each summer building sets for Music Theatre of Wichita.
He started his career in the restaurant industry. He enjoyed computer technology and spent a decade learning the industry at Voice Products from 2007 until 2018. He worked for other great companies as well before starting his current job as an IT professional for Underground Vaults & Storage in Wichita.
He loved working from home and loved working for UV&S. He was kind, gentle, witty and fiercely loved by us. Joshua will be missed terribly but carried with us in our hearts forever.
We will gather for a celebration of Joshua’s life from 11am until 2pm on Saturday, September 11 at
Venue 3130, 3130 W. Central in Wichita. Sandwiches will be served.
We ask that everyone consider their personal health and safety as their foremost priority. We fully understand that some are not comfortable attending large gatherings at this time and that it is no measure of your love and concern.
