Kathleen Odell Wiley was born in a farmhouse on Mule Creek west of Kiowa, Ks. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Kiowa High School in 1944. She started Kansas University in the fall of 1944 where she majored in Music. Kathleen was an accomplished pianist and organist throughout her life.
December 28, 1947 she married K. E. Paxton in Kiowa, Ks and was married to him until Nov. 2010 when he passed away. In June, 1949 Kathleen and Pax moved to Kiowa, Ks where they started Paxton Drugstore with the help of a loan from Kathleen's father, Lester Wiley. They moved to Wichita in 1979 where they became owners of PJ and PK Pharmacies.
Kathleen is survived by her sons Keith Paxton and Richard Paxton; and sister Christine Kubik
Kathleen was preceded in death by her father Lester Wiley; mother Helen Sarah Good Wiley; and brothers Glenn Wiley and Gilbert Wiley.
A Celebration of Life for Kathleen will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1958 N Webb Rd, Wichita, KS 67206. Please park on the south side of the building.
