

Kent was born August 11, 1962 in Wichita where he lived his entire life. He served his community with distinction as a Wichita Police officer for more than a decade, devoting his life to keeping people safe and helping his fellow citizens.
Kent’s desire to help others continued in the second phase of his professional life
when he became a financial advisor and partner in Retirement Plan Advisors.
In that role, he helped thousands of teachers and other public servants plan for their futures and to be financially secure in their retirement years.
Kent was an avid fan of Wichita State University Shocker basketball, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals.
Kent lived life on his own terms, independently and with purpose.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Taylor.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Taylor; brothers Mike (Molly Malone) of Kansas City, John (Kristine) of Alamosa, Colorado, five nieces and godson Ian Jones.
Visitation with family present, 3pm-5pm, Sun., Oct. 26 at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary. Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 27 at 2pm at Dawson United Methodist Church, 2741 Laura, with burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
